Executive Committee

The Management of the society shall be the responsibility of the Executive Committee. The members of the Executive Committee shall be elected by the General Assembly of members and shall consist of the following;

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Corporate Affairs Officer
  • Secretary
  • Technology officer
  • Business liaison officer
     

President
The President shall be the chief representative of the society and is tasked with the responsibility of promoting the objectives and ideals of the association. He/She shall preside over all meetings of the committee and all meetings of the general assembly.
Vice President
The Vice President shall assist the President in his/her task in promoting the objectives and ideals of the Association. In the absence of the President, the Vice President shall assume the role and responsibilities of the President in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be in charge of all the finances of the Association and shall receive subscriptions and other monies due to the Association, and his/her receipt shall be the only sufficient discharge. He/She shall keep full and correct accounts and shall submit quarterly statements of receipts and payments and arrears of subscriptions to the Executive Committee at the end of the said quarter. A bank account shall be opened in the name of the society; the account shall require the co-signature of the treasurer and the president.

Secretary
The Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence related to the affairs of the society. He/she shall be responsible for the announcement of committee meetings. He/she shall duly record the minutes of both committee and general assembly meetings; these shall be ratified at the following meeting. The secretary is also charged with keeping an accurate record of all current members of the society. The Secretary shall be the legal advisor of the association.

Corporate Affairs
The Corporate Affairs Officer shall be primarily responsible for maintaining and improving the image of the Association. He/she shall be responsible for all external communications with external parties through the media and other means. The Corporate Affairs Office shall have the responsibility of dealing with all external relations and shall be official spokesperson of the Association.

Technology Officer
The Technology Officer shall be responsible for initiating, co-ordinating and managing technology programmes, activities, and projects including training, research and development of ICT in the Gambia.

Business Liaison Officer
The business liaison officer be responsible for obtaining sponsorship, co-coordinating fundraising activities, creating and maintaining links with computer based businesses and other business entities.
